"UniCon" is a Windows-compatible software for collecting weight values on a PC via Ethernet. The UniCon communications program stores received data strings in a DBF file with a user-definable structure. The DBF format (dBase format) is well suited as a reliable database for the more complex applications. Furthermore, data stored in DBF format can be read and processed by any database or spreadsheet program, which means interfaces do not present a problem. UniCon is suitable for use with the SBI weighing instrument protocol (ASCII characters). Data is sent to the interface converter via the serial interface on the weighing instrument. The converter sends this data to the connected PC over Ethernet (TCP/IP). Weighing data can be sent to the control system on the PC and stored, for example, by pressing the PRINT key on the weighing instrument. Other data, such as date, time, product ID, and/or personnel number can be sent to the database by the weighing instrument at the same time. If the weighing system has functions for time-controlled data output, defined printouts, in their entirety, can be transferred automatically at one time.

 
Areas of Use
 
This program is used for isolated collection of weight values (by pressing the print key on the weighing instrument or time-controlled data output) or for manually initiated transfer of any information collected in the weighing process.
